Day Two

Our biggest hurdle is definitely Nika's lack of desire to have contact with her brother and sister. But ... we are only two days into this and we are working hard on modeling affection. We had a rough morning ... Nika wanted to be held every minute and did not want her sister near her. Payton is having a hard time with that, but we are working on it ... it is hard to make Payton understand and I hate to see her cry when Nika pushes her away.

I dropped Mason and Payton off at school earlier this morning and now it is just Nika and I here at home. She is a different kid when it is just us here ... amazing! I was beginning to think she had regressed since we were in Russia, but clearly it all has to do with her siblings. Sigh.

Thank you to everyone who gave me advice ... I know you are probably rolling your eyes at me since we just got her home, but I really did not expect her to not want the kids to touch her, especially given the way she has attached to Kyle and I. Regardless, it definitely helps to know this is normal and that there are many others out there who have experienced this.

She's touching me~she's looking at me~~~for some kids it's just a bigger deal than for others. One of the two year olds I have feels threatened by anyone that gets within her perceived 'territory' so I just spend a lot of time modeling as well. Some kids are just wired differently.
