our adoption.

In November 2008... we completed our adoption. We brought home a beautiful baby girl from St. Petersburg, Russia. Addison (aka: Nika) is a happy, smart, courageous, loving little girl... who happens to have Down syndrome. We are more than blessed to have her in our lives.

our timeline.

11/19/08: Back to the USA!
11/14/08: Arrive in Moscow
11/13/08: Nika leaves the baby home forever
11/12/08: Court - 10 days waived!
11/9/08: Leave for trip two
9/28/08: Home from trip one
9/24/08: We met our daughter!
9/24/08: Appointment with Russian officials
9/22/08: USCIS approval
9/22/08: Leave for trip one
9/10/08: Dossier filed in Russia
8/21/08: Paperwork being apostilled
7/31/08: Meet with IAG in Pittsburgh
7/25/08: USCIS fingerprint appointment
7/18/08: Application submitted to IAG ... we are switching agencies
7/9/08: Home study complete and approved
6/27/08: Cradle of Hope suspended out of Russia
6/26/08: Final home study visit
6/24/08: Home visit with social worker
6/5/08: USCIS receives I-600A
6/2/08: Orientation with agency
5/28/08: All home study paperwork complete and mailed
5/22/08 - Submitted adoption application, home study application, financial report and home study application fee
